A festive New Year’s Eve Ball, ”A Night in Vienna,” will transport you to the bygone era of Old World grace, lively music, wine, and fine food. The December 31st ball is presented by Sky Hill Cultural Alliance in conjunction with the San Francisco Waltzing Society. A 19-piece orchestra will be conducted by the first violinist, just as Johann Strauss did! A sumptuous gourmet buffet will feature traditional Viennese dishes and desserts, with a no-host bar and complimentary champagne for a midnight toast. Festivities begin at 9 p.m. and run until 12:30 a.m. to accommodate those who attend the New Year’s Gala concert at the Petaluma Museum. Suggested dress is white tie or black tie and ballgowns, but any dressy attire will be fine. For those without a dance partner, rest assured the Waltzing Society will make sure you enjoy as many spins around the room as you desire. Keep in mind, you needn’t dance to have a delightful evening . . . the food and music will provide more than adequate delight!
