A fundraising ballroom dance competition Dancing with the Stars and Stripes (DWTSandS) is patterned after the popular TV show “Dancing with the Stars.” DWTSandS is a serious yet entertaining competition. Twelve dance teams, each team consists of a local amateur “Star” and a professional dancer “Pro,” raise funds by soliciting sponsors and dollar votes, and will compete before a live audience and professional judges. In addition to funds raised prior to the event, the audience will have the opportunity to make additional contributions (votes) for their favorite team before the final scoring. Trophies will be awarded based on judges’ scores and on the amount of money each team raises to help Veterans.
