The art of the jazz piano trio continues in Healdsburg this year, courtesy of the Lorca Hart Trio, a cross-generational group featuring the mid-career drummer Hart and dynamic young pianist Josh Nelson, a long time collaborator and friend of Lorca’s. High expectations are in order for this trio, led by Hart, who has played with Kyle Eastwood and Hugh Masekela among many, and directs the High School Jazz Band, weekly in Healdsburg . Nelson will supply his melodic and swinging touch, a touch which has been tapped for Natalie Cole’s band in recent years.
